Fasig-Tipton adds nine supplements, including three stakes winners, to July sale

Fasig-Tipton added nine supplemental entries to its July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale, and three of them already have stakes credentials that can move the market fast. The new hips run from 351 through 359, giving buyers more ready-made runners to sort through when the sale opens July 14 in Lexington, Kentucky, immediately after The July Sale.

That matters because this is not a pedigree-only catalog. The horses added here bring current form, black-type and, in some cases, immediate placement options for barns looking to win now. Fasig-Tipton says nominations can still be accepted up to sale time, even though entries had to be finalized by June 19 to make the initial catalog.

Spirit of New York is one of the most interesting additions. Hip 351 is a New York-bred gelding foaled March 23, 2023, by Honest Mischief out of Unbroken Spirit. He had five starts through June 20, 2026, with two wins and one third, and $159,167 in earnings. His latest effort came in the New York Stallion Spectacular Bid Stakes at Belmont at the Big A, where he finished third in the $150,000 race for 3-year-olds eligible for the New York Stallion Stakes Series.

Moonlight, hip 353, brings the profile of a seasoned stakes horse. Equibase lists him with 21 starts, five wins, four seconds and two thirds, with career earnings of $571,452. That kind of résumé gives buyers a horse that can slot into existing programs immediately rather than requiring months of development.

Victory Music, hip 354, gives the sale another filly with live form. The 3-year-old by Maclean’s Music had six starts, with two wins, one second and one third, and earnings of $145,912 as of July 7. She was third behind Counting Stars in the Astral Spa Overnight Stakes at Oaklawn Park, and Counting Stars later went on to win the Acorn Stakes (G1), a line of form that sharpens Victory Music’s appeal to buyers searching for horses with proven class.

The July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale has been part of Fasig-Tipton’s mid-July calendar since 2013, and last year’s edition set records across the board. In 2025, the sale grossed $8,037,000 from 51 sold of 54 offered, with an average of $157,588 and a median of $95,000. Romeo also set a single-offering record when he sold for $1.7 million, underlining how quickly the right racing-age horse can explode in value when the form is right.
