The victory gave Kyle Frey a stakes score on a card that has become one of the quickest ways for fillies and mares to announce themselves on the Southern California turf circuit.

The race was run at 1 mile and carried Listed stakes status, which matters at Del Mar because these early-summer female races often sort out who is ready for more than allowance company. Baltic Fire did not win by sitting on the fence and hoping for a collapse.
